Congratulations to Irv Bieser, Jr. and Leo Krebs on 50 Years of Service

Bieser Greer is proud of its 162 years of providing quality legal services to the Dayton community.  We have been able to enjoy the long success we have because of attorneys who have  committed themselves to bettering this community, upholding the integrity of the legal system, and developing relationships with people from all walks of life.  This year, Bieser Greer and the Dayton legal community celebrate two of those attorneys who have each contributed fifty years to the practice of law and to Bieser Greer’s service to the community – Irv Bieser, Jr. and Leo Krebs.

Greater Dayton has been home to Irv Bieser his entire life.  He grew up in Oakwood and learned about the importance of serving the community from his parents and grandparents.  He began practicing law in 1966 after receiving his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from Harvard University in 1963 and 1966.  Irv immediately joined Bieser, Greer & Landis in 1966 and eventually became a partner in 1972.  He spent a great deal of his practice representing several community foundations and affiliated organizations, as well as assisting individuals with estate planning and charitable giving.  He has devoted years of volunteer and philanthropic efforts to protect the environment, preserve historical sites, champion community growth and development, and support the local arts.  He was also an instructor of Law at the University of Liberia Law School in Monrovia, Liberia, where he was charged with leading a nationwide training program for lower court judges and magistrates.  Irv is now largely retired but still makes a number of trips to the office each week.  He has a deep appreciation for the rich culture of the Greater Dayton community and has spent fifty years of service to the community, both in and out of the practice of law.

Leo Krebs was also no stranger to Dayton in his youth, growing up only fifty miles or so north in Botkins, Ohio.  Leo received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Dayton in 1959, and then served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army from 1959 until 1962.  He went on to receive his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown Law Center in 1965.  Leo gained experience as a Legal Deputy for the Montgomery County Probate Court from 1966 until 1968, at which time he joined Bieser, Greer & Landis as an associate attorney.  He became a partner at Bieser Greer in 1974, focusing his practice in the areas of civil litigation and estate planning.  His career took him to many courts, both state and federal, including the United States Supreme Court.  He received accolades and awards from the most highly respected entities, including Martindale-Hubbell, the American College of Trial Lawyers, and Best Lawyers in America.  He devoted seventeen years to coaching youth baseball and strived to make a difference in the community through serving on several community boards and committees.  Leo became of counsel in 2008, but he continues to make a difference in the community and in the lives of his clients.

It is through the years of service of each of its attorneys that Bieser Greer has an enduring legacy of more than 160 years.  For fifty years, Irv Bieser and Leo Krebs have faithfully worked for the people of this community and have strived to maintain the community’s vibrancy by contributing to its culture and preserving its history.  They made their marks in the legal community not only locally but elsewhere and bettered the lives of the people they served during their practice of law.  Congratulations to Irv and Leo on fifty years of exceptional service!
